NUTRITION WEEK
Health is like money, we never have a true idea of its value until we lose it.” – Josh Billings It is important for the students to know and understand that health is the true wealth and the easiest way of maintaining a good health is having wholesome and nutritious meals and keeping yourself clean and germ free. Keeping all this in mind Pre-Primary wing of Taha School conducted a "Health and Nutrition Week" from 4th to 11th of November. Each day of the week, students were taught different aspects of healthy and nutritious eating.
4th November –
On this day the students of Primary wing were taught to take care of their oral hygiene. The illustration of How
to brush the teeth and clean their mouth everyday was shown with the help of interesting videos.
5th November –
Liquid can do wonders to your health therefore students were taught about different nutritious liquids such as
fruit juices, milk , vegetable soup, glucose etc.
6th November –
In our Indian diet grains and pulses are a vital provider of nutrition. Students were taught about different
grains and pulses that are paramount in our daily diet.
7th/8th /9th November –
On this day the students of Primary to junior wing were taught to Our body has different nutritional needs in
different seasons. Students were told what food items are beneficial for different seasons.
10th November –
On the final day of the "Health and Nutrition Week"
The students came up with different fruits and vegetables and spoke in front of the class about the fruit or
vegetable they were dressed up as .They were also shown different vegetables and fruits by their teachers. This
was a great way to promote healthy snacking habit and to teach children that eating fruits can be both tasty and
good for their health. The teachers gave a talk on healthy and unhealthy food, highlighting the importance and
benefits of eating a fruit on a daily basis . Children decorated the fruit platter with a lot of enthusiasm and
creativity. They relished the fruit chaat with their friends.
The Health and Nutrition Week was concluded by giving a " Tips for Healthy Lifestyle “chart to all the students.
